
HISTORY
SURGE~outofdesperation is a visual Rock Band, with a style strongly influenced by Visual Kei (style of Japanese rock) Bands.
Formed by five members, the band SURGE ~ (as it is called briefly) began its works in the beginning of 2010 working hard in studios to present a high quality sound. In the end of 2010 the band played some concerts in Belo Horizonte (its origin place) in events related to the Japanese culture.
After their presentation in an Anime BH 2011 concert in Belo Horizonte, the band SURGE ~ got the attention for the musical and visual quality on the stage, drawing the attention and the interest of a Japanese label for an album recording.
The album “Akai” was recorded in Belo Horizonte and produced by Robert Regonati (from ColorMark Music Japan) a renowned musical producer that works with important names of Japanese musical scene, such as singer Tsubasa Imamura . The album is also mixed and mastered by Robert Regonati and Takeo Senda in Nakanotouge Music Labo (Japan).
As of now, it’s possible to check the quality of the production through Digital Single バイオレット (Baioretto), Digital Maxi-Single 絶望の色 (Zetsubou no Iro) and Digital Single 冷たい風 (Tsumetai Kaze), FREE DOWNLOAD HERE.
Among the band's that influence SURGE are: Dir en grey, the GazettE, kagerou, Alice Nine., -OZ -, D, Kiryu, Signal and others.

• 1st place in the band contest at university PUC MINAS (Belo Horizonte/MG, Brazil).

• Was five times the last band of the last day of the biggest event about anime/Japanese culture of Minas Gerais, the “Anime Festival BH”.

RELEVANT ACHIEVEMENTS
As a whole, the band has reached very significant numbers. The blog www.surgeout.blogspot.com (temporarily disabled) has almost 37.000 visits and YouTube channel created in June 2012 has over 16.000 views although the band does not have a Promotional Video (PV) recorded, and almost 20.000 views considering other videos band on other channels.
In 2012 the band had a remarkable growth of new fans getting support from other countries, such as Japan, USA, Germany, Russia, Lithuania, Finland, Argentina, Colombia, Turkey, Indonesia, Norway, etc ...
Another interesting fact was the arisings of fan clubs and Street Teams, starting from the month of March 2013, to support the band in the USA, Russia, Norway, Mexico, France and Sweden.
Besides the several harnessed possibilities to any rock band, the band SURGE~ has a great acceptance of the public in events related to the Japanese culture, anime and mangas.
